About the Book

Now that it's become a common problem of such catastrophic proportions, have you ever desired to learn about memory loss or wondered what you could do about it? There are so many different kinds and reasons for memory loss. The categories, subdivisions, and subsets are endless. The medical theories for each one often leave people assuming they have the worst kind of memory loss: Alzheimer's disorder, when really, they simply need more education on memory loss in general. Here in Don't Forget: What Drug & Insurance Companies Don't Want You To Know About Memory Loss, you will learn how memory losses interact and overlap. You will learn what you can do for memory loss from normal aging; how memory problems of aging differ from stroke, Alzheimer's, head-injury, and numerous other memory loss problems; why so many people go untreated and suffer from countless cases of unnecessary memory loss; how to prevent memory loss; and how to behave around people who think they have it and the ones who really do. Get the insiders' view on living with memory loss disabilities by reading the true family stories. But don't wait! Learn how to care for your memory problems now before it's too late. About the Author

Jill Joyce, PhD, has the unusual distinction of being dual licensed as both a psychotherapist and speech/language pathologist, who has worked with memory loss patients and their families for over 20 years and then went on to study, research, and teach university classes on memory loss during the next 10 years. She has helped her own mother overcome age-associated memory impairment (AAMI) and lived with her aging grandmother when she began to decline due to Alzheimer's. She is also uniquely positioned from her clinical work with memory loss as one who has viewed it from many vantage points, including: Aphasia, stroke, head injury, thyroid disorders, learning disabilities, ADHD, bi-polar, anxiety disorders, depression, Alzheimer's, epilepsy, and substance and hormone related memory losses. In her book, she offers causes, treatments, prevention, and life strategies and explains why medical professionals do not typically offer these avenues to families at this time. She is also available beyond the book for speaking engagements and to give online, phone, or live appointments to those who seek them through her website connection dontforgetmemoryloss.com that will connect directly to her Virtual Office at mytherapynet.com. Her mission is to inform people in simple terms about ways to prevent or overcome memory loss by offering education and new information as it develops in the latest research.
